The ICA Mobile Preconference is an interdisciplinary gathering of scholars, researchers, and practitioners who are interested in mobile communication, mobile media, and mobility at large. This will be the 13th Annual Meeting of ICA Mobile.
This year, the mobile preconference will be organized in the form of Blue Sky workshops. In these workshops, scholars can present, learn and discuss their latest ideas, research and skills around a limited number of themes related to mobile communication and mobile media. We hope the workshops provide a forum where graduate students and new faculty can interact with more experienced mobile researchers, thereby cultivating a supportive and integrated community of mobile scholars. Ideas presented at the mobile preconference have consistently led to publication in peer-reviewed journals and influenced the theoretical foundation of mobile research.
In addition to the Blue Sky workshops, this year’s preconference features an opening remarks and a conference lunch and dinner where scholars will interact in an informal and social atmosphere.
The preconference will be held at the Fukuoka Art Museum, which is a short taxi or subway ride away from the Hilton Seahawk.
Driving directions are as follows:
This year the organizing committee is: Colin Agur (chair), Shin Mizukoshi (vice-chair) and Mariek Vanden Abeele (vice-chair), Mamiko Hayashida, Katie Cumiskey, Maxwell Foxman and Veronika Karnowski.
